And this too will pass
Quit? Don't even think about it. Quitting isn’t an option.
Just because everything isn’t going your way and all odds seem against you? How about all the work you’ve put in all this time? Do you want it to just go down the drain?
The Ice Cube Analogy
In his book Atomic Habits, James Clear wrote:
“Complaining about not achieving success despite working hard is like complaining about an ice cube not melting when you heated it from twenty-four to thirty-one degrees. However, a one-degree shift, seemingly no different from the temperature increases before it, unlocks a huge change.”
This analogy perfectly illustrates the power of persistence. Every effort you make, every small step forward, is raising your temperature closer to that critical point where change happens. It may seem like nothing is happening now, but that doesn’t mean your efforts are in vain. The moment you quit might be just a degree away from your breakthrough.
Being able to solve your problem is another success story out of the countless successes you will recount. Remember, no matter how little the step you take, it’s still progress, a mini success.
There’s no life without problems. Wouldn’t it be weird if there were no challenges on your journey to success? If you’ve studied the lives of the most successful men and women, you’d see they all had moments when nothing seemed to be working.
If they had quitted, you wouldn’t have known their names. If they had given in to their problems, their stories would have been left unfinished, unwritten.
Time will pass; tough times don’t last, but you will. You know why? Because you’re tougher than your problems, and tough people never quit.
Go today and finish what you started. Face your problems; they’ll surely pass. Conquer them and derive life lessons from them that will inspire others to tackle their own problems too.
