You are in the exact place you need to be right now, reading this article from wherever you are. So, before you continue, take a moment to relax your shoulders and release any tension from your face. We often get caught up in the stress of what the future holds. The pressure to meet expectations and show up every day can be exhausting.
At some point, you may experience burnout, if you haven't already. You might look back on the days when you had no worries, your shoulders felt light, and time seemed endless. Going to the beach was pure enjoyment, and watching a movie was a rollercoaster of emotions, not something you felt guilty about.
Back then, wasting time wasn't a concern because you didn't have to be anywhere at a specific time. Your only responsibilities were eating, drinking, and being mindful of your speed while running downhill. Everyone around you seemed so tall and grown-up, while you still felt like a child. You had dreams and aspirations, envisioning your life ten years down the line. You painted a vivid picture in your mind and desired nothing but that perfect future. You wrote down your goals and dreams, maybe even dreaming of becoming an astronaut or a famous lawyer like I once did.
Your dreams gave you hope for a better world. Little did you know that those were the days you would cherish forever as memories.
Life, however, is full of surprises, and the paths we take are never guaranteed. It's funny how the life we imagined as kids can be vastly different from reality. But that's the beauty of it all. It's okay if you've ended up on a completely different path from what you imagined. Being in a place you envisioned since childhood would be unrealistic and dull. Embrace the imperfections and uncertainties, as that's what makes life perfectly imperfect, and that's completely okay.
Let things flow
Allow the journey to lead you wherever it needs to, but that doesn't mean you should sit idle, convincing yourself that "this is exactly where I'm meant to be." Not at all. Instead, listen closely to your instincts, pursue the things you are passionate about, and continuously strive to improve yourself. Even when faced with setbacks and failures, don't give up. Failure is an essential part of life as it provides opportunities for growth.
When things don't go as planned, when your hard work seems to have let you down, don't be disheartened. Embrace failure as a friend, not something to be feared. Understand that it happened for a reason, and even though it may be difficult to see at first, trust that it is leading you towards eventual success in the long run. With time, you will gain a profound understanding of why events unfolded the way they did.
Any torment you feel is self-inflicted. Stop viewing yourself as an adversary and refrain from directing anger towards the world. Nobody is to blame, including yourself. Simply allow things to be, and move forward with a positive mindset.
Feel sad, but don't linger. Keep moving forward.
It's a harsh reality we must come to terms with. Just like the fleeting pleasure of indulging in a jelly-filled doughnut or a chocolate fudge brownie, happiness often eludes us, leaving us disappointed when our expectations fall short.
Staying humble is crucial. Celebrate your achievements and savour the moments of joy, but also be prepared for the inevitable moments when you might feel down, for reasons you may not fully comprehend.
As human beings, it's entirely normal to struggle with internal conflicts and uncertainties. However, it's essential not to let the lows consume us. Just as the highs pass, so too will the difficult times. Remember that life is a mix of both highs and lows, and it's all part of the journey.
Taking breaks
Allow yourself to experience your emotions fully. Take time to reflect on your thoughts and feelings. Don't hesitate to cry and release all that's inside you. As humans, it's natural to feel sadness, empathy, and anger. However, it's crucial to recognize that you shouldn't allow these emotions to control you or overpower you.
Instead, make an effort to pull yourself out of that dark place as soon as possible. Give yourself the space to cry if needed, but don't let it end there. After allowing yourself to release your emotions, remind yourself that this is an opportunity for a fresh start, a chance for rebirth.
Even in the depths of despair, remember that these low moments can ultimately make you stronger. Take care of yourself and engage in small actions that can uplift your spirits and make you feel better. Embrace the process of healing and growth.
Stay resilient, and never let discouragement lead you to give up on yourself.
For humans, it's crucial to take breaks, have moments of reset away from the hustle and bustle, and truly allow ourselves to recharge.
Consider your body having three batteries: one for your mental well-being, one for your physical health, and one for overall energy. It's essential to use these resources wisely, but equally vital to recharge them when needed.
Make your breaks a regular occurrence, at least once a month. Ensure that these breaks are enjoyable, in a peaceful and beautiful setting. Disconnect from work or any responsibilities, leaving them behind at the office or home. Detaching from media completely can be challenging, but it will prove to be incredibly therapeutic and fulfilling. Don't let the guilt of not doing something haunt you during these moments.
Liberate your mind from the pressures and external negativities that surround you. Allow yourself the freedom to recharge fully during your breaks, and you'll find yourself reinvigorated and ready to face the world with renewed strength.
I can't picture a life without problems. Make your dreams a racing horse by working towards them. Don't just dream in sleep.
Horses race faster whenever it is harnessed.
Work the talk.
Embrace your fears, and walk with them hand in hand until you become friends.
You're not a robot, you deserve to rest whenever it's needed but don't rest unnecessarily.
As humans, we're limited to some things and we don't have control over certain things. We shouldn't dwell on the things we don't have control over instead, we should stay positive.
Wonderful piece once again, keep it up!
