Did you get something tangible done yesterday? Were you able to tick off 80% of your to-do list? Or should I mind my business?
I won’t stay in my lane because I do care about you and your change. It's only when you change that you can see the world as a better place and not think the whole world has ganged up against you.
Why exactly did you put off that task yesterday? Oh, I forgot, it's the stealer of life again—Procrastination. You can procrastinate all you want, but not on the things that matter, not the big stuff, please. It's called active procrastination.
It’s better to put off the unimportant tasks; they won’t make any impact. But, please, tackle your “big frogs” every day. I know you visualize what you’ll be like 3 months from now, 5 years from now, and even 10 years. Everything won’t go your way if your 24-hour day keeps slipping by. Or should I say 16 hours? Yes, getting enough sleep is important for your health, for your brain, so you can wake up energized, get up, and make yourself proud.
It all starts with what you do as each hour passes by. Are you learning a skill, studying, or reading some self-help books? Or are you scrolling through social media? I hope not, because 10 years from now, Facebook or WhatsApp won’t come to your aid.
The books you read, the new things you learn, will come in handy—if not now, then certainly later. There will surely be a time when you will thank yourself for dedicating time to growth.
Dino Ambrosi founder of Project Reboot said: “Social media is free because you pay for it with your time.”
Yes, I know you have that business that requires you to open social media every now and then. Here’s a way you can utilize your time well: Open that app with a specific task in mind, accomplish it, and exit the app once you’re done.
Stop procrastinating today. Start now. Being good isn’t enough. Go out there and be excellent. Take small steps towards your growth journey and you’ll make it big. Starting small is the key.
You’ll be surprised at how much you can accomplish with consistency and those small steps.
