Ask yourself this: Why do you live every day?
What's your driving force? Are you approaching each day with the intention to savour every moment, to explore new experiences, or are you simply going through the motions—getting up, heading to work or school, returning for dinner, and then repeating the cycle?
Forgive my bluntness, but you possess a remarkable mind capable of conjuring desires, dreams, and aspirations daily. You are surrounded by many of the things you once wished for. When will you truly relish all that life has to offer?
During my own challenging phases, I often felt overwhelmed, as if I were drowning in responsibilities, only to end up doing nothing but self-recrimination.
What brought me solace and renewed purpose was operating with intent each day. The objective was straightforward: to do what I could to make that day better.
This simple shift enabled me to confront a fundamental question: "How would I like to spend today?" Often, when we feel engulfed by countless responsibilities and a sense of losing control, this question helps us regain a sense of direction.
In those moments of doubt and uncertainty, it's essential to remember that you don't have to have all the answers for the future or strive to control every aspect of your life. As cliché as it may seem, your primary focus should be on making TODAY count. This means doing whatever inspires you, and giving your best effort in everything you undertake, whether it's working on a project or injecting some joy into your life in any way that you can. The future will unfold in its own time, but making the most of each day is within your grasp.
For instance, during a period in my life when I was facing challenges, I had established two daily objectives for myself:
a) First, I aimed to do something that brought me genuine happiness, completely unrelated to my usual activities.
b) Secondly, I committed to engaging in one task related to my field, and I dedicated my full effort to it to prevent any feelings of regret or guilt.
This approach helped me declutter my mind from unnecessary thoughts and ideas that weren't contributing positively to my life. It enabled me to maintain an unwavering focus on actions that brought me peace and fulfilment.
I encourage you to do the same—begin your day with a clear and meaningful objective. Choose a motive that aligns with your current circumstances and empowers you to lead a purposeful life.
I hope this article helps you make your life interesting and happy. Just remember one thing, nothing will ever be completely perfect. One or the other area of your life will have issues. You can still choose to make life good by doing what feels good to you. One day at a time.
