You Can Survive
Embracing struggle doesn't require pretending to enjoy discomfort or denying the difficulties we face.
"The statement 'I'm facing challenges' does not stand in opposition to 'being productive.' Instead, it signifies that you are making progress. Unfortunately, we often perceive struggle as a sign of failure, and when we react to it with embarrassment or shame, we inadvertently reinforce the misconception that struggling is inherently negative."
Even within the gym walls, instructors continually emphasize that your struggle is the catalyst for strength. "No pain, no gain," they say.
Yet, let's be honest, struggling is far from enjoyable. No one wakes up in the morning hoping for a day filled with challenges. Nevertheless, each of us finds ourselves grappling with various difficulties. Some may hide it well, while others learn to cope.
But in the midst of struggle lies an opportunity for growth. It acts as an opening, beckoning us to evolve and develop. Embracing struggle doesn't require pretending to enjoy discomfort or denying the difficulties we face. It simply serves as a reminder that within struggle lies the potential for positive transformation. When we wrestle with impatience, it presents an opportunity to cultivate patience. Confronting bad news tests our strength, allowing us to discover our resilience. In the face of rejection, we uncover our own worth. Growth consistently follows struggle, as new strengths and insights emerge from the depths of adversity.
Struggling is a clear indication of progress because it signifies that you are pushing yourself to excel and reach your desired destination. Those final gruelling repetitions in the gym, when your body aches, and those sleepless nights during your study periods are tangible indicators of your transformation. The struggle you endure today paves the way for a future where reading for hours won't be a struggle anymore, as you put in the effort to become better than before.
Indeed, struggle serves as an invaluable teacher. It illuminates whether the goals we pursue hold true significance. When we encounter struggles in endeavours that lack meaning, their insignificance becomes apparent at the first hint of adversity.
Are you living the life you envisioned? Perhaps it's time for a transformation. Embracing change may lead to struggles, but remember that stormy days will come. Yet, within those tempests lies the promise of a brighter rainbow. Not all storms aim to disrupt your life; some arrive to clear a path for growth and progress.
As Vivian Greene beautifully stated,
it's not about waiting for the storm to pass, but rather, learning to dance in the rain. Embrace the challenges and difficulties, for they may lead to a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
Don't let go when you encounter struggles. Embrace them; stumble and tumble if you must. I understand it hurts, but giving up after battling for so long would be the greatest act of self-sabotage. Remember, a person who falls and rises is stronger than one who never even starts the journey.
Easy victories may lack emotional value, but the things we work for, the ones we struggle to achieve, truly become ours. Keep climbing and persevering; you might be just a step away from reaching the summit. If you stop struggling, you'll never know how far you could have gone.
Why deny yourself the chance to achieve your dreams? There's still much to accomplish and build. Struggles will persist, but they will also deepen your appreciation for your accomplishments.
So keep pushing yourself today. Show up, make progress, and weather the storm. Even if progress is slow, rest assured you're moving forward, step by step.
